Welcome to Reception

Mr Healey is our teacher. Mrs Lamb and Mrs Pepper are our Teaching Assistants. Mr Bowker will teach us one morning a week.

In Reception, we aim to provide a safe, happy and engaging environment that allows children to learn through a combination of purposeful play and adult interaction. We have a broad topic that we follow half termly but we also allow children's interests to shape the learning. Each week, we have a focus text that is linked to our theme/class interests or current events such as Chinese New Year. We our very proud of every child in our class and love sharing and celebrating the similarities and differences between us all.

We love to play, learn...

...and master new skills.

Communication with Parents

Please click here to find out all about how we communicate with parents through our school app.

PE Kits

We will have our PE lessons every Tuesday afternoon, your child will be required to bring in a full PE kit and pumps/trainers. These can stay in school and will be sent home at the end of every half term.

Outdoor day

Every Friday, we will take our learning outdoors. The children can come in their own clothes, (preferably clothes that are suitable for going outside and getting dirty). It would also be beneficial for the children to have a pair of wellies and a waterproof jacket that could be kept in school.

Reading books

As soon as your child starts Reception, they will be sent home with a reading book of an appropriate level and a reading journal for you to record their reading at home. There is an expectation that your child is read with every night.

School dinners/Snacks

If you would like your child to have a hot dinner at school, you will need to go to the school office and ask Mrs Stevens for your login and password. Your child will be provided with fruit as a snack during the morning, so you do not need to send your child in with their own.

If anyone would like to come into class and help with readers, your help would be much appreciated, just ask myself or another member of the team and we can arrange days and times.
