Human Relationships Health Education
Our aim is that when children leave Holy Family they will do so with the knowledge, understanding, skills and emotions to be able to play an active, positive and successful role in today’s diverse society. We want our children to have high aspirations, a belief in themselves and realise the positive impact they can have on the world and people around them. In an ever–changing world, it is important that they are aware of the many different factors which will affect their world and that they learn how to deal with these. Consequently, having a positive affect on their mental health and well-being.
Please read our HRHE policy which has been approved by our Governors.

HRHE lessons are timetabled weekly throughout the school from Nursery to Year 6. We use Ten:Ten Resources to teach our HRHE lessons.
We also supplement our HRHE lessons with other resources including:
We use MyHappyMind which is a program designed to help children develop positive mental health, resilience and emotional wellbeing. A special slot is timetabled for this weekly.
Pol Ed lessons are also used during Enrichment Weeks to supplement our HRHE curriculum. Enrichment Weeks are timetabled in to enable coverage of these lessons. Pol-Ed is a citizenship and police education programme. We incorporate British Values through the use of Pol-Ed resources.
We also align our learning to awareness weeks eg Sun Safety Week. We learn about following areas during HRHE lessons using the following resources:

HRHE Long Term Plan
Our children are always encouraged and supported to be the best they can possibly be. We reward the children each week for following the Gospel Values by giving them a Purple Promise jumper to wear during that week. It is always a difficult decision for our staff as all of our children are so wonderful.
Our older children love to help our younger children whenever possible. Below we have pictures which include the Year 6 children sitting with the Reception children in Church and also helping out EYFS on their sponsored colour run.
