    Year 4 Multiplication Check

    Dear Parents,

I am writing to inform you that your child will be participating in the multiplication tables check in
the first two weeks of June.

What is the Multiplication tables check?
It is an on-screen check consisting of 25 times table questions. Your child will be able to answer
3 practice questions before taking the actual check. They will then have 6 seconds to answer
each question. On average, the check should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

The purpose of the check is to determine whether your child can fluently recall their times tables
up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It is a statutory assessment that
all Year 4 pupils will undertake this year.

We are and will continue to do lots of practice within school, however if you wish to practice with
your child at home that would be useful.

This check is nothing for the children to worry about. The check is very similar to the layout of
    TT Rockstars.

The parents guidance sheet will be attached on the school jotter for more information.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards

    Miss Puckey.
