‘Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.’ Proverbs 22:6
Welcome to Holy Family Catholic Primary School Website. We hope our website will give you an insight into our school. We are proud of the caring, hard-working, Catholic environment provided at our school, where children are encouraged to reach the highest possible standards in everything they do, whilst feeling secure and happy.
In Holy Family Catholic Primary School, we believe that children should enjoy their learning. Every week, all children in the school enjoy an outdoor day where we take indoor learning into the outdoors. All staff work hard to plan and deliver high quality, fun lessons whilst ensuring that the children make super progress at the same time.
This is our school,
Let Peace dwell here,
Let the room be full of contentment.
Let love abide here;
Love of one another,
Love of mankind,
Love of life itself
And love of God.
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house,
So many hearts make our school.
Emergency School Closures
We always endeavour to keep Holy Family Catholic Primary School open and it is never an easy decision if we have to close the school for any reason. It is important for you as parents to be informed as soon as possible of any closures and as a school we will always aim to do this quickly and efficiently. If the school were to close due to inclement weather, it could mean the school site is unsafe or school staff are unable to travel safely from their home to school a decision will be made by 7.30am (at the latest) on the day of the closure. This information will be sent by Groupcall text to all contacts, be posted on our app, broadcast on both Heart Radio and Radio Cumbria and a notice will be posted on the homepage of this website. If the school has to close at any point during the school day, which could be due to electrical, heating or water failure or the onset of inclement weather, the information again will be sent by Groupcall text, posted on our app, broadcast on both Heart Radio and Radio Cumbria and a notice will be posted on the homepage of this website. Please be assured that we would never unnecessarily close our school and no child would ever be left unattended in the event of a closure. We are fortunate that we do have staff within walking distance of our school and they would be present on the morning of any closure in case a family have not received the information and their child arrives at school. The member of staff would make contact with the family to arrange for those children to be collected and remain with the child(ren) until they are collected safely.
